Mickey Mouse (also called Mickey Mouse) is a cartoon character and emblem of the Disney company. Created on November 18, 1928, this mouse has a disputed origin. The official legend explains that he was created by Walt Disney during a train ride back to California after discovering that he did not own the copyright to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, so he withceived a lively big-eared mouse that he wanted to name Mortimer. Lilian, his wife, thought it was too pretentious a name and suggested Mickey (according to Bob Thomas, the legend of the name is fictitious and he cites the case of a character named Mortimer Mouse who was born in 1936, Minnie Mouse's uncle).
